Facelift and Necklift Surgery
A deliberate approach to restoring balance and structural harmony over time
When the face in the mirror no longer looks like you
For many women, changes in the lower face and neck happen gradually. Skin laxity, deepening folds, loss of definition along the jawline, or a heaviness through the neck can begin to alter how you’re seen — and how you recognize yourself.
These changes are not about getting “old.” They’re about structures shifting over time. And when that shift begins to feel distracting or misaligned with how you feel inside, a facelift can be the right option.
A well-performed facelift helps you look more vibrant and energetic. It should not make you look like a different person. Rather, it can restore balance and symmetry, so that your face once again reflects how you feel inside.
I design my facelift surgery specific to the individual with long-term outcomes top of mind.
Before and After Results
Before and after results
Before-and-after photos can be helpful, but they rarely tell the full story. What matters just as much is how the result was achieved, how the patient healed, and how the face continues to look months and years later.
The images below reflect women who wanted to look rested, confident and more like themselves. Not different or simply “younger.” The results are noticeable, but never obvious.
This is beauty, designed to last.
Who this procedure is (and isn’t) right for
Facelift surgery may be an excellent option for women who:
Notice sagging or loss of definition in the lower face or jawline.
Are concerned about neck laxity or deepening folds.
Feel their appearance no longer reflects their energy or stage of life.
Want a durable, structural solution rather than temporary or repeated treatments.
Just as important, a facelift is not the right solution for everyone. This procedure may not be appropriate if:
Concerns are better addressed with non-surgical or smaller surgical options.
Medical conditions make surgery unsafe.
Expectations lean toward toward significant alteration rather than natural balance.
Motivation suggests surgery may not address the underlying concern.
A critical part of my role is helping determine whether a facelift truly serves you or whether another approach (including no surgery at all) is the better choice.
Dr. Janet Chao Pearl’s approach to facelift and neck lift surgery
Facelift surgery is a technically demanding procedure that requires precision, planning and a deep respect for facial anatomy. The decisions made beneath the surface (such as how tissue is supported, repositioned and preserved) have a profound impact on both the result and the recovery.
My approach emphasizes:
Structural support rather than surface tightening.
Respect for natural facial contours and expression.
Techniques that prioritize predictable healing.
Results that remain appropriate as the face continues to evolve.
I am intentional about what I include and what I leave out. I do not believe in add-on techniques that increase recovery time without clear long-term benefit. Each plan is individualized, guided by anatomy, goals and how the face will age over time.
The goal is a result that feels integrated, balanced and enduring rather than “done.”
What to expect from Dr. Chao Pearl
Timeless Faces is a boutique, concierge-style facial plastic surgery practice designed to offer a highly personal and continuous experience of care. This structure allows me to remain intimately involved at every stage of the process and to work thoughtfully with patients for whom surgery is truly the right choice.
From consultation through recovery, you work directly with me as your surgeon. There is no rotating team of doctors, no army of assistants, no handoffs.
The process typically includes:
A detailed consultation focused on anatomy, goals and candidacy.
A clear discussion of what surgery can (and cannot) accomplish.
· A surgical plan tailored to your face, lifestyle and long-term priorities.
If surgery is the right step, the procedure itself is performed with meticulous attention to detail and efficiency. After surgery, I remain closely involved in your care, monitoring healing and addressing questions as they arise.
Recovery and healing
Recovery is a common concern for women considering a facelift. While individual experiences vary, many patients find the process more manageable than expected.
In general:
· Swelling and bruising improve steadily over the first few weeks.
· Discomfort is typically well controlled.
· Return to social activities occurs gradually, as healing progresses.
· Results continue to refine over several months.
Because I prioritize techniques that respect tissue and avoid unnecessary disruption, patients are often able to return to their routines sooner without compromising the quality or longevity of the result.
